Day 1 : Arrival to Damascus International Airport

Arrival to Damascus International Airport. Meeting & assistance. Transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Damascus.


Day 2 : Bosra

After breakfast, departure to Bosra for the visit. Bosra was mentioned in Egyptian 18th-dynasty records as Busrana. It became part of Seleucid domains after Alexander's conquests and was seized by Judas Maccabeus in 163 BC. When the Nabatean kingdom rose to local prominence in the 1st century BC, Bosra came within the north reaches of their control. In 106 AD, the Romans extended direct rule and established "Provencia Arabia". It became heavily influenced in its cultural and civic life by Roman models. Bosra was made the hub of an important network of trade routes linking Egypt, Red Sea, Syria and the Mediterranean, Mesopotamian regions. It retained its importance through the Christian era of Later Roman Empire, it was however a Monophysite centres and thus often on bad terms with Constantinople. The prophet Mohammad probably visited the city during a trading journey before his religion mission began. Lunch in local restaurant Back to Damascus dinner and overnight at hotel.


Day 3 : Damascus

Breakfast in the hotel. Full day dedicated to the visit of Damascus. We visit the National Museum, the Old Bazaar, Omayyad Mosque, Azem Palace, Via Recta, Anania's House, Bab Charki & St Paul's Window. Lunch in local restaurant Dinner and overnight at hotel in Damascus.


Day 4 : Palmyra

Breakfast in the hotel. Visit of Palmyra include the museum, the temples of Bel, Baal Shamin and Nebo, the Roman Bath, The Tetrapyle, Diocletian's Camp & the Tomb's Valley. Lunch in local restaurant Dinner and overnight at hotel in Palmyra.


Day 5 : Qasr Al Hir Charki - Rassafa

Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to Qasr Al Hir Charki. Continue to Rassafa the old Sergio polis after the name of St. Sergius who was matyrized by the Romans around the year 300 A.C. Lunch in local restaurant Departure to Aleppo Dinner and overnight at hotel.


Day 6 : Aleppo - St. Simeon

Breakfast in the hotel.Visit ALEPPO: Sight seeing the city, including the museum, Grand Mosque, The 8 Km old Bazaar, The Citadel, some caravanserais and the old Christian neighbourhood Departure to St. Simeon cathedral, where St. Simeon stayed for 40 years on top of a column in the fifth century. Terminated in 491, it was then the biggest church in the world until St Sophia was built in Constantinople in 532. Lunch in local restaurant Return to Aleppo Dinner and overnight at hotel in Aleppo.


Day 7 : Apamea - Krak des Chevaliers - Maaloula

Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to Apamea via Hama. Apamea is one of the four cities founded by Seleucus I Nicator at the beginning of the 3rd century BC. The name Apamea was adopted to commemorate his Persian wife (who was named Apamea). It enjoyed the advantage of rich pasture to provide a breeding centre for the army horses. In 64 BC, Apamea was taken by the Romans under Pompeii and its citadel was razed. Under Roman rule, it was further developed as a military base. The theatre, baths, temples and villas were constructed during the town's peak prosperity on 2nd century AD. The colonnaded main street was completed in its present form during the reign of Marcus Aurelius. Apamea remained a centre of considerable importance into the Byzantine period. It was made the capital of "Syria Secunda" province in the early 5th century and was the seat of a bishop. The Persians sacked and burned the city in 573. The Persians held it again from 612 to 628 and the Byzantine "liberation" came just in time to see its falls to the Arabs a decade later. The town was under crusade control from 1106. In 1149, it was retaken by Nor Al-Din. In 1157 a major earthquake destroyed part of it. Continue to Krak des Chevaliers one of the most impressive crusaders' fortresses. Taken in 1110 from the Emir of Homs by Tancred, Regent of Antioch, the Castle was enfiefed to the Count of Tripoli. In 1114, Raymond II, the count of Tripoli transferred the Krak along with his other dependent castles to the Knights Hospitaller. The order massively expanded the existing fortress after 1170. The Krak survived 2 major Muslim challenges. The Mameloukes under the sultan Babar’s invested the Krak on 21 February 1271. Lunch in local restaurant Continue to Maaloula. Visit Maaloula where villagers still speak Aramaic, the language spoken by Christ. Visit St Sergius church and admire 13th century icons. Then visit St Thecla Convent. The saint (reputedly a pupil if St Paul and one of the first martyrs of the Church) is buried in a cave above the monastery. Departure to Damascus. Dinner and overnight at hotel.


Day 8 : Amman

Breakfast in the hotel. Morning drive southwards down to Ramtha borders. Meet & assist by our representative and transfer to Hotel of choice. Dinner and Overnight at Amman Hotel


Day 9 : Desert Castles - Amman City tour - Amman

Breakfast in the hotel. Morning depart to visit the Desert Castles, located in the eastern desert of the Kingdom. They offer respectively the fresco art and zodiac dome of Qasr Amra baths; the fortress-like enigmatic Qasr Karana; the Roman fort turned Umayyad residential palace at Qasr el Hallabat and finally the black basalt Roman/Medieval Islamic fort at Azraq. lunch en route Return to Amman in the afternoon for a City Tour. We visit the Roman Theatre, the Citadel, the Archaeological and the Folklore Museums, the old and modern Part of Amman City. Dinner and Overnight at Amman Hotel.


Day 10 : Nebo - Madaba (St.G.Ch.) - Kerak - Petra

Breakfast in the hotel.Drive southwards along the Kings’ Way to Petra. First visit of Madaba, city holding the oldest map of the Holy Land, and its Mosaic School. Continued drive to Mount Nebo and the alleged burial site of Moses overlooking the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley. Then drive through the magnificent scenery of Wadi Mujib down to Kerak. Lunch at Kerak Visit Kerak’s Crusaders Castle. Proceed to Petra. Dinner and Overnight at Petra Hotel.


Day 11 : Petra

Breakfast in the hotel. A full day to visit the many sites of Petra, this city that was carved into the rose-red Sharah Mountains by the Nabateans and lost to Civilization until re-discovered by the Swiss Burkhardt. Walk through the “Siq”, a narrow and winding fissure between the cliffs, to reach the Treasury, the Roman Theatre, the Courts, Qasr Bint Pharaoun, the Temple of the Winged Lion and other monuments. A break for optional lunch, or you may wish to climb up to the Monastery. Lunch at a local restaurant Dinner and Overnight at Petr


Day 12 : Petra - Wadi Rum - Amman

Breakfast in the hotel. Departure Southwards to visit the Wadi Rum Desert (with a short ride in a 4x4 vehicle) and its awesome moon-like landscape, where the film “Lawrence of Arabia” was shot. Lunch at Wadi Rum Return to Amman on the Desert Highway Dinner and Overnight at Amman Hotel.


Day 13 : Jerash - Ajlun - Amman

Breakfast in the hotel. A late morning tour of Jerash (Gerasa of antiquity), the best preserved city of Roman times. We visit its theatres, temples, churches and colonnaded streets. Lunch at Jerash Then continue to Ajloun to tour the 12th century Saracen Castle built by one of Saladin’s lieutenants in the campaign against the Crusaders. Dinner and Overnight at Amman Hotel.


Day 14 : Um Qais - Pella - Dead Sea - Amman

Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to Um Qais, Gedara of the Bible (Mathew 8:28-34), for a spectacular view of the Sea of Galilee, the Yarmouk River and the Golan Heights. Continue to Pella in the Jordan Valley, Proceed down to the lowest spot on Earth, the Dead Sea, and experience floating in its waters! Lunch at Dead Sea. Return in the late afternoon to Amman. Dinner and Overnight at Amman Hotel.


Day 15 : Departure from Amman Airport

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Amman International Airport, and assistance with departure formalities.
