Near the narrow fertile valley of Wadi Essair, on the hills with a high and medium altitude; with its’ many springs, caves date back to the Copper Age, and the famous olive trees, among other forest trees, the historical site of Iraq El-Amir “Qaser El-Abd” is located

The hellinistic ruins of Qaser El-Abd consists of an enormous palace indicate to have been built by Hyrcanus of the powerful Tobiad family during the 2nd century AD. The name "Tobia" is engraved in Aramaic at the entrance, in addition to a carving of a lioness sheltering a cub at the palace.

A degree of mystery surrounds the reason of the construction of Qaser El-Abd that was devastated by great earthquake of 362 AD.
