Visa regulations to Jordan

AIRPORTS

-         Queen Alia International Airport "QAIA": Located in Amman, 35 KMS from the downtown area. Serviced by many global airline carriers, and considered as the main Airport in Jordan.

 

-         Marka Airport: Regional airport in Amman, servicing domestic and nearby international routes

 

-         King Hussein International Airport "KHIA": Jordan’s gateway to the Red Sea Region of Aqaba. The airport is serviced by national and international carriers

 

LAND BORDERS

-         Ramtha Border: Northern Border with the Syrian Arab Republic, 90 KMS away from Amman

Saturday – Friday: 24 Hours

 

-         Jaber Border: Northern Border with the Syrian Arab Republic, 80 KMS away from Amman

Saturday – Friday: 24 Hours

 

-         Sheikh Hussein Bridge: Northern Border with Israel, located in the north of Jordan close to the Lake of Tiberias

Saturday – Friday: 24 hours

 

-         King Hussein Bridge "Allenby": Crossing Point with Israel, located in the southern Jordan Valley, 57 KMs away from Amman. Considered as

Sunday – Thursday: Arrivals (8:00 AM – 20:00 PM) // Departures (8:00 AM – 14:00 PM)

Friday: Arrivals & Departures (8:00 AM – 13:00 PM)

Saturday: CLOSED

 

IMPORTANT

o        Visa CANNOT be obtained at King Hussein Bridge "Allenby"

o        Private cars and tour buses CANNOT cross. Coaches MUST be changed for crossing

o        Clients departing Jordan through King Hussein Bridge "Allenby" to Israel are allowed to return back from the same border "Crossing Point"

 

-         Wadi Araba Border: Southern Border with Israel, located in the south of Jordan, 324 KMS from Amman

Sunday-Thursday: 6:30 AM – 22:00 PM

Friday – Saturday: 8:00 AM – 20:00 PM

Closed on Islamic New Year & Yom Kippur

 

SEAPORT

-         The Port of Aqaba: Southern Border with the Arab Republic of Egypt, situated on the north shore of the Gulf of Aqaba

 

VISA REGULATIONS

v      Individual Visa (1-4 Pax)

o        Single & Multiple Entry Visa for Jordan could be applied for at Jordan Embassies or Consulates around the world

o        Single Entry visa could be obtained at the borders, with exception for restricted nationalities; where advance permission is required from the Ministry of interior in the Hashemite Kingdome of Jordan

o        Single Entry Visa is JOD 10.00, equivalent to US$ 15.00 Per Person, to be paid in Jordanian Dinnars

 

v      Group Visa (5 Pax and above)

Free Collective Visa could be arranged for a group of 5 participants and above, arriving and departing altogether, with a minimum stay of 2 consecutive nights

-         Passport Issue & Expiry Date

             Passport Validity should be 6 months or above

 

Free Single Entry Visa for individuals and groups arriving King Hussein International Airport, or Wadi Araba Border, with a minimum stay of 2 consecutive nights

 

 

DEPARTURE TAX REGULATIONS

-         Airport Departure Tax JOD 20.00 Per Person (Equivalent to US$ 29.00)  

-         Land Border Departure Tax JOD 5.00 Per Person (Equivalent to US$ 7.50)  

-         SeaPort JOD 5.00 Per Person (Equivalent to US$ 7.50)  

The Ministry of Finance / Custom Department has declared earlier this year the exemption of the Land Borders & SeaPort Departure Tax for all passengers & travelers.
